Tuesday, January 22 , 2008 - Collexis announced today that the National Institutes of Health
(NIH) has selected the company to develop an Advanced Expert Profiling System that will allow more than
8,000 NIH researchers to connect and share their expertise via a web interface. The agreement
represents an expansion of Collexis’ relationship with the NIH. Previously, the NIH signed an Enterprise
License Agreement with Collexis, under which more than $20 billion in grant funding is analyzed using the
company’s software platform.
“Given its scale of operations as the largest single source of funding globally for health sciences research, we believe the selection of Collexis by the NIH will enhance the Company’s profile among research institutions and academic universities and drive increased adoption of our software,” said Bill Kirkland, CEO of Collexis Holdings, Inc. “The NIH requires a sophisticated search solution to manage the monumental amounts of research being undertaken nationwide by its experts. Coalescing research findings so that researchers and program staff can find the most qualified experts on very specific subjects is vital for the NIH to get answers to important questions, to increase productivity and to maximize the use of public research dollars toward improving the health of all Americans.”
