Collexis Search

Collexis Search is a standard Enterprise Search application that includes the most frequently used Collexis functionality needed for a swift and easy implementation.

The following features are part of Collexis Search:

Results
  • Search and Documents. The end user is offered the option to enter one or more search words or preferably a complete text to search with. This search phrase will be indexed using one or more thesaurus and free text. Based on the created index (Fingerprint) results are matched with available document sources. All results will be shown in order of relevance, accompanied by additional metadata.
  • Search and Experts. Besides content, experts / authors can also be found when they are uniquely identifiable from the delivered metadata. Based on the publications, a merged profile of the experts is created that can be used for relevance matching.
  • Content visualization. Why settle for text when Collexis can visualize your content in many ways? All found concepts can be projected in a single page heat map. Or use visualization to explore your data and find new, hidden relationships.

Supporting your search
  • Full text search. Enter just one word or enter a complete text. Collexis will analyze the search phrase, handle text in the correct way including abbreviations, synonyms, homonyms, hierarchy and multi-lingual aspects and produce results in order of relevancy.
  • Proposed Concepts. An average search queries is only 1.6 words per query. Collexis helps you finding the right results based on proposing thesaurus concepts which will dramatically reduce the result list. Intuitively and interactively you can pick one or more of these 'proposed concepts' resulting in a narrowed down result set.
  • More like this / Use for search. After you found a document, you can find closely related documents with just a click of the mouse.
  • Fingerprint modifier. The Fingerprint (the generated weighted search index) can be shown. The relative weight of concepts can be modified, allowing you to influence the fine nuance which is often important while searching in highly specialized content. Also, additional concepts can be added to the search Fingerprint on-the-fly.
  • Link out. Link out to content will be preceded by an intermediate detail page with a short title, abstract, publication date and possibly some other related metadata. From this page there will be an option to link to the original location of the found document.
  • Change setting and sources. The end user has the option to change the various sources for searching or change the weighting of the used thesaurus or free text ranking. This will be an advanced option behind a button.
  • Top 5 concepts. Each of the results in the result list will show the 'Top 5' relevant concepts contained in the found items.
  • GUI. The Graphical User Interface will be based on standard Collexis components and customized to the customer look and feel in a style sheet.
